While "Khengpa tradition" doesn't refer to a single ritual, there are regional Bon and Buddhist ceremonies in the broader area impacting Khengpa communities:

Kharphu (Bon ritual):

Celebrated in villages like Shingkhar in Zhemgang (part of the Kheng region), this ancient ritual is performed to appease a local deity, Lha Ode Gungyel. It involves community preparations—building a mandala shrine, special offerings, and trance-like rituals by a Bonpo (priest)—to bring peace, prosperity, and good health to the community .
